Image Resizer

Change the width and height of an image in your browser. Enter exact pixels or a percentage, keep the aspect ratio locked, and download the resized image instantly.

Your image is resized locally in your browser. It is never uploaded to a server.

How to use Image Resizer

  1. Upload the image you want to resize.
  2. Enter a new width or height, or choose a percentage.
  3. Keep “Lock aspect ratio” on to avoid stretching, or turn it off to set both sides independently.
  4. Choose an output format if you want to convert at the same time.
  5. Download the resized image.

About this tool

Websites, email attachments, social media and print all need images at specific sizes. Uploading an oversized photo wastes bandwidth and can break page layouts.

The resizer scales your image to exactly the dimensions you set. When you reduce the size, the file size drops too. When you increase it, the tool enlarges the image — for big enlargements, expect some softness.

When to use it: when an upload form rejects “image too large”, or when you need exact dimensions for avatars, banners and posts.

Frequently asked questions

What does “lock aspect ratio” mean?
With the lock on, changing the width automatically changes the height to keep the same proportions, so the image never looks stretched. Turn it off if you need exact, independent dimensions.
Will resizing reduce the file size?
Making an image smaller almost always reduces the file size. You can also export as WebP or JPEG at a lower quality setting to shrink it further.
Can I make an image bigger?
Yes, but enlarging creates pixels that were never in the original, so very large enlargements will look softer or blurry. Resizing works best when reducing an image.
What size should images be for social media?
Every network has its own recommendations, but 1080 pixels on the long side is a safe default that looks sharp almost everywhere.
Does resizing also change the file format?
Only if you want it to. You can keep the original format, or convert to JPG, PNG or WebP as part of the same step.
Why do my exact dimensions get rounded?
Pixels are whole numbers, so when the aspect ratio is locked the tool rounds to the nearest pixel to keep proportions correct.
